TAYLOR: I AM READY TO RIP THE TITLE FROM BARANCHYK! PhilBoxing.com Sat, 20 Apr 2019 ![]() Scotland?s WBC Silver Champ Josh Taylor (14-0, 12 KOs) does not believe the Belarusian IBF World Champion Ivan Baranchyk (19-0, 12 KOs) will hear the final bell in their WBSS Super-Lightweight Semi-Final on May 18 at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. When Baranchyk advanced to the semi-final and took home the vacant IBF title, he showed his devastating power against Sweden?s Anthony Yigit and forced the ring doctor?s stoppage in the seventh round. And Taylor equally impressed in his quarter-final when he stopped USA?s Ryan Martin in the seventh round and paved the way for a sensational match-up between ?The Beast? from Belarus and ?The Tartan Tornado? from Scotland. Josh, how are you feeling with one month until the fight? ?I am very excited for the fight, I feel in great shape and I am ready to rip the title from Baranchyk! I cannot wait to fight in Glasgow for a world title, this will be a dream coming true.? Can you give us some insight into your preparations? ?My preparations have been great and I feel in fighting shape.? What do you know about Baranchyk? ?I think Baranchyk is a very good, strong and powerful fighter.? What can Baranchyk expect from you on May 18? ?He can expect to go back without his title!? How do think the fight will evolve compared to your quarter-final against Ryan Martin? ?I think Baranchyck is going to come on the front foot, which suite me just fine.? Do you see the fight going the distance? ?No, don?t think Baranchyk goes the distance ?? How confident are that you will go all the way and win the Muhammad Ali Trophy? ?I am very confident in going all the way to lift the Ali Trophy, but it?s one fight at a time and I have to take care of business in the semi-final first.? Tickets for the Monster WBSS Semi-Finals night, Ivan Baranchyk vs Josh Taylor and Naoya Inoue vs Emmanuel Rodriguez on 18 May at The SSE Hydro are on sale now from: TheSSEHydro.com ![]() |
