NBA -- Clippers torch Clarkson's Cavs, 132-108

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Clippers shot 62.4 percent from the field and easily defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, 132-108, on Sunday at Staples Center.
Montrezl Harrell powered his way to 23 points and six rebounds to lead Los Angeles' balanced attack. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 22 points and eight assists while Jamychal Green had 18 markers and 10 rebounds.
Lou Williams, the NBA's all-time scorer off the bench, added 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting.
The Clippers, who hit, 53 of 85 field goals, improved to a 46-31 slate to occupy sixth place in the Western Conference standings. Keeping that spot and avoiding from falling into the seventh or eighth seed is important because it could avert a potential first-round playoffs match-up against either the Denver Nuggets or the two-time defending champions Golden State Warriors.
After a 29-29 standstill to end the opening quarter, the Clippers created some distance with a 36-23 second quarter run before putting the game away for good with a 39-25 blitz in the final 12 minutes of play.
Already eliminated from the playoffs picture, the Cavaliers dropped their 58th contest against only 19 wins.
Filipino-American Jordan Clarkson paced the visitors with 26 points in 24 minutes of action. Collin Sexton had 21 while Cedi Osman added 19 points for Cleveland, which knocked down 41 of 92 field goals but missed 20 of 23 3-point attempts.
