PLANIA DOMINATES LOPEZ WITH UD WIN

Filipino rising prospect ?Magic? Mike Plania impressed the Los Angeles crowd at the Microsoft Theater as he schooled stylish Mexican Juan Antonio Lopez in eight exciting rounds. Judges unanimously scored the fight 79-73, 78-74 and 77-75 all in favor of Plania who now improves his record to W19 KO10 L1 D0.
Plania immediately went for the kill in the opening bell and hit Lopez with a thundering straight to the chest send the Mexican to the canvas. However the referee failed to score it a knockdown. Replay clearly showed a clean knockdown for the Filipino. Plania sticked to the game plan showing his savvy ring generalship and picking his opponent apart. The stylish Mexican had his moments but it was Plania who showed superiority throughout the fight.
?I am very happy with another road victory. It was a great experienced and it also made me realize that I still need to improve in many areas of my boxing skills. Thank you Sanman and Senator Manny Pacquiao for making this happen. I will work harder and become a world champion?, the ecstatic Plania stated.
Sanman Boxing CEO Jim Claude Manangquil was just as joyous about his ward?s win. ?It was a hell of a fight. Truly a great experience for Mike. Lopez was tough as expected like any Mexican warrior but Mike was the better fighter. This boy has bigger fights ahead of him.?
