TV RESULTS FROM LOS ANGELES: JOYCE STOPS HANKS IN ONE

Undefeated British heavyweight Joe Joyce (7-0-0, 7KOs) stopped Joe Hanks (23-3-0, 15KOs) of New Jersey at 2:25 in the 1st round to logged his 7th knockout victims in his 7th pro fight and captured the vacant WBA Continental heavyweight diadem at the Staples Center Saturday night on the undercard of the Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury WBC world heavyweight championship.
Joyce, who is trained by Abel Sanchez, connected with a straight right that staggered Hanks before sending the American to the canvas with a wicked left. Hanks tried to stand up but his legs was so weak to support him allowing Referee Jerry Cantu to make the full count for another KO victory for Joyce.
