In a rematch battle, unbeaten WBA 105 Lbs World Champion Thammanoon Niyomtrong (19-0, 7 KO's) of Thailand scored a unanimous 12 round decision over️ Nicaragua challenger Byron "Gallito" Rojas (25-4-3, 11 KO's) today Thursday (Nov 29) in Chonburi,️ Kingdom of Thailand.
The more active Niyomtrong dominated the fast-paced combat which evolved mostly in the center of the ring. There were no knock downs produced. However, it was plagued with low blows and excessive holding, which took away much of the excitement. Yet, no points were deducted by the third man.
A cut was produced on the Nicaraguan right eye, though it was well controlled by its corner headed by Wilmer Hernandez, who has also worked in the corner of Roman Gonzalez an Felix Alvarado.
The clash was a re-make of their war two and half years ago in which Niyomtrong, known in Thailand as Knockout CP Freshmart, dethroned "El Gallito" Rojas in Khon Kaen, Thailand.
The WBA ring officials for the clash are referee Rafael Ramos of Texas. Judges in ringside Fransicso Martinez of New Zealand, Uriel Aguilera of Colombia and Raul Caiz Jr. of California USA.
