Christine Ferea Eyes World Title Shot Following Impressive KO Win

PhilBoxing.com

Last Saturday night from the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, ?The Misfit? Christine Ferea made her debut with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships at BKFC3: The Takeover, and stepped to toe the line against Jennifer Tate.

From the onset of the first round Ferea came out showing poise and precision with her striking, utilizing her crisp jab to back Tate up to set up her power shots. Tate stood her ground and let her hands fly in attempt to halt the relentless attack by Ferea, but came up empty short. Ferea pressured Tate back against the ropes of the squared circle and let her hands go, changing levels between head and body. She capped off the attack with a straight right and left hand on the button which dropped Tate to the canvas. The referee stopped the fight at the 1:50 mark of the first round.

?I think the strongest part was being aware of what was going on and being composed throughout the entire fight,? said Ferea, who is also an active MMA fighter and kickboxer.

Ferea was originally scheduled to make her bare knuckle debut August 25 at BKFC2, but issues with her opponent the day of the fight pushed the date back to October. The fast and heavy handed orthodox fighter out of Las Vegas didn?t let the delay get her down, and she continued to stay focused and diligent in her training camp.

?My debut was drawn out a little from two opponents not doing their job right and showing up professional and ready,? Ferea continued. ?I had back to back camps after cancellations. I was more ready to unleash and not leave my fate in someone else?s hands. My performance was exactly how we planned on it to be. Smart, precise, and devastating.?

Throughout her amateur and professional career Ferea has proven herself as a top fighter, though she showed Saturday night that she possesses all of the ingredients to have herself a long and successful career in bare knuckle fighting.

With the impressive win Ferea made a statement that she is ready for a world championship showdown with current BKFC title holder Bec Rawlings.

?I am next for the world title,? stated Ferea. ?She?s not ready just like my last opponent was not ready. Nobody?s ready for me at this point. I cannot be beat, outworked, outsmarted; I am too committed and my team is way too strong. She will try and duck me but I don?t think the BKFC will pull that MMA bullshit. I?m involved with this sport because it?s real, real rankings, and they want real badass fights. Time will reveal that. Stay tuned it?s only getting crazier.?

Christine Ferea exudes confidence and rightfully so. She not only won her fight in impressive fashion at BKFC3 but put on the performance of the night. Amongst a fight card full of MMA champions and boxing veterans, Ferea stole the show with her on point striking and ability to finish the fight cleanly and efficiently. She didn?t waste punches and ?hoped? the big shot landed. She masterfully picked her opponent apart with sharp body shots causing Tate to drop her hands, and when she saw the opportunity, she took it, closing out the show.

World heavyweight BKFC champion Bobby Gunn always states that bare knuckle boxing is chess, and boxing is checkers. Ferea looked like a world class chessmaster inside the squared circle against Tate, and proved she is ready to take the world by storm and collect her world title hardware.

?I?d like to give a shoutout to my wife, my coaches Dewey Cooper and David Hayes and team, Team One Kick, all the die hard fans that always have my back, SinCityVapor Las Vegas, Nevada, Danny, Mercy Roger, Badchixx, Stephcutz. Thanks so much.?

If she is not already, Christine Ferea will soon be a household name around the world as she continues to make her trek to the top in the BKFC.
