WEIGHTS FROM JAPAN: SHIRO - 107.75 LBS; MELINDO - 107.5 LBS. (PHOTOS)

WBC light flyweight champion Ken Shiro of Japan scaled at 107.75 lbs while his Filipino challenger Milan Melindo weighed in at 107.5 lbs on the second try. According to reports from Japan, Melindo came in one pound over the light flyweight limit at 109 lbs on the first try. Melindo sweat it out outside and returned to the weighing scale after 90 minutes to make weight and stay in contention for the WBC title to be held at Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan Sunday night (Oct. 7).
In the other belts contested, for the WBSS series, below are the weights:
WBA bantamweight championship, 12 rounds:
Naoya Inoue (Japan) - 118 lbs.
Juan Carlos Payano (Dominican Republic) - 117.5 lbs
WBA super lightweight championship, 12 rounds:
Kiryl Relikh (Belarus) - 140 lbs.
Eduardo Troyanovsky (Russia) - 139.25 lbs.
