Guaranteed P400,000 total cash prizes in the upcoming Tagum Fiesta National Open Rapid Chess Championships

A whopping total P400,000 guaranteed prizes are up for grabs when the two-day event Tagum Fiesta National Open Rapid Chess Championships gets underway on November 24 to 25, 2018 at the RDR Gymnasium, Davel del Norte Sports Tourism Complex in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
According to National Arbiter Joseph Gener "Jojo" Palero, the first day in the event features the 3x3 event, one team can field three players with an Team average rating of 2100 and below base in the August 1 NCFP rating list, employing the Seven Round Swiss-System, 15 minutes plus 3 seconds increment time control format.
Cash prizes await winners with the team champion taking home P100,000 and an elegant trophy while the runner-up will receive P50,000 and the third-placer will settle for P30,000.
Fourth to seventh will pocket P25,000, P20,000, P15,000 and P10,000 respectively.
Eight to to 10th placers will get P6,000 each while 11th to 15th placers will go home P5,000 each.
Antipolo City is sending their Antipolo City Youth Chess Club squad led by Fide Master Christopher Castellano, Jayson Levin Tapia and Team Captain Jason Rojo. Coach is Sonny Dela Rosa.
The second day of the event jointly organized by Board Member Alfred De Verya III and Hon. Homer A.Rotulo is an Open individual tournament with the winner getting the lion share of P30,000 and kiddies Under 14 event which offers P5,000 to the champion.
