Complete Weigh-in Report from Manila: Alfante 112, Diale 112 for WBC Asia Continental Title Saturday (July 7) at MOA

MANILA, Philippines -- Fighters make weight at GAB Office Manila. Cris Alfante (R) of Zamboanga del Norte and Ardin Diale of Sarangani successfully weighed-in at the limit of the flyweight division 112 lbs., for their tough 12-rounder battle for the vacant WBC Asia Boxing Council Continental Flyweight in the exciting Gabriel "Bebot" Elorde's "Night of Champions" Saturday evening (July 7) at Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines.

The 26 year-old Cris Alfante as well as Ardin Diale, 29, of the Dino Olivetti Boxing Gym are both experienced fighters gunning for the coveted title green & gold Asian Continental belt.

They appeared confident and in excellent physical shape during the GAB official scale-in ceremony today (Friday), easily making weight in their first attempt.

The fight supervisor for Alfante vs Diale clash for the WBC Asia Boxing Council is Rafael M. Diokno of the Games and Amusement Board.

Ronnie Wowie Campos and Zoren Pama.

In the chief supporting bout, 21 year-old Ronnie Wowie" Campos of Bacolod scaled-in at 126 lbs., while 25 year-old Cebuano Zoren Pama - a man who years ago got in the ring with none other than Thailand's Srisaket Sor Rungvisai - made 124 pounds for their 8-rounder war in the featherweight division. Campos, who last year lost by points in a tough battle in Japan, is an Elorde fighter; while Pama is a former Elorde man, now boxing for the Pe?alosa stable.


Jecker Buhawe and Giovanni Escaner.

Also, Giovanni Escaner and "Bambam" Jecker Buhawe both made 120 pounds for their 8-chapter saga in the super bantamweight division. Escaner, 28, is an Elorde boxer, while the experienced Buhawe belongs to the Gandeza-Kambal Boxing Stable.


Ricardo Sueno and Joel Taduran.

In flyweights, 23 year-old Ricardo "Smiley" Sueno Jr. (7-2-3, 3 KO's) of Bacolod, Negros Occidental, and Joel "Dondon" Taduran, 24, (8-8-1, 2 KO's) of the Art Monis Hardstone Boxing Stable both easily made 112 lbs., setting the stage ready for their 8-stanza skirmish that is likely to last the distance.


Al Toyogon and Germaine Dela Rosa.

In addition, 20 year-old Al Toyogon (7-2-1, 4 KO's) of Gingoog City in Misamis Oriental correctly made 130 lbs., while Catanduanes-born Germaine Dela Rosa (4-10-2, 1 KO) of the Prime Time Boxing Gym in Pampanga after trying to reduce weight, was still 4 pounds overweight at 134 lbs. Therefore, as per GAB regulations the 24 year-old Dela Rosa is required to climb the ring for the 8-rounder wearing 10 ounces gloves.

THRILLING ACTION-PACKED PRELIMINARIES

Also, Cotabato warrior Romshane Sarguilla (5-1-2, 3 KO's) tipped the scales at 111 lbs., while Benjie Bartolome of the MP Highland Boxing Gym came-in heavy at 114 lbs. As a result, the veteran Bartolome is required by the GAB to wear 10 oz gloves. The tough 6-rounder clash promises to ignite fireworks.

Moreover, hard-hitting Alvin Medura (7-2, 6 KO's) born in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, and opponent Reynald Condes (3-1-1, 1 KO) from Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental both made identical weight of 119 lbs., for their 6 rounder war. Medura, 24, belongs to the Elorde Gym while Reynald Condes, 21, who trains in Bulacan, boxes out of the Nestor Arias Boxing Team.


Jun Blazo and Julios Bala.

Furthermore, superflyweights Jun Blazo and Julius Bala both made same weight of 116 lbs ahead of their hot 6-chapter battle. The 25 year-old Blazo (7-6-3, 6 KO's) hails from Hilongos, Leyte, and fights for the Elorde Boxing Stable; while Julius Bala (4-9, 2 KO's) of the Olivares Boxing Gym comes from the City of Golden Friendship, Cagayan de Oro.


Ronel Sumalpng and Reymar Condes.

In addition, tough Ronel Sumalpong weighed-in at 111 pounds, while foe Reymar Condes, 19, tipped the scales at 113 lbs., ahead of their 6-rounder rough encounter in the flyweight division. Sumalpong, 21, of Surigao del Sur fights out of the Elorde Gym while Condes belongs to the Nestor Arias Team. Reymar Condes and his brother Reynald Condes are both fighting in this boxing card, aiming at scoring exciting knock out wins.


Glenn Medura and Nestor Junio.

For the first bout of the evening, featherweights Glenn Medura and Nestor Junio weighed-in at identical weight of 125 lbs., for their 4-stanza fighting appointment. Glenn Medura is brother of Alvin Medura, who also sees action in this fighting event. The fighting Condes brothers are gunning for victories.

Alfante vs Diale for the WBC Asia Continental Flyweight Title in "Night of Champions" at Mall of Asia in Metro Manila, Philippines, is a production of prolific Filipino fight promoter Gabriel "Bebot" Elorde, winner of this year's WBC Honorary Asian Promoter of the Year."
