Gaballo resumes training, braces for tougher assignments
PhilBoxing.com Sat, 05 May 2018

MORE THAN a month after his sensational win in the United States (US), Reymart ?Assassin? Gaballo is back in the gym as gears up for tougher tasks ahead.
Gaballo has resumed training at the Sanman Boxing Gym in General Santos and remained in high spirits following his impressive unanimous decision win over Stephon Young last March 23 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood.
The victory netted Gaballo the interim WBA World bantamweight title and the hard-hitting boxer vowed to put in the necessary work to defend the belt.
?I am excited to fight again. I have started training again and so far, so good,? said Gaballo.
Gaballo said he is doubling his effort as he knows that nothing would be easy in his next assignments.
?I will do everything to win my next fights,? he said.
While he has been displaying flashes of brilliance, Gaballo admitted that he still has something to improve on in his arsenal.
?I think I have to throw more punches. That?s something that I have been working on,? said the 21-year-old fighter from Polomolok, South Cotabato.
Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude Manangquil said Gaballo is ready to fight anyone in the top 15 of his division.
?There?s a couple offers for Gaballo to defend his title abroad but we are doing our best to promote and defend his title here in the Philippines. There is also the bantamweight tournament coming up so that is one that we are looking at,? said Manangquil.
Manangquil is not discounting the possibility of Gaballo facing regular WBA bantamweight champion Jamie McDonnell, who will defend his crown against Naoya Inoue on May 25 in Japan.
Manangquil said they are confident that Gaballo will do well in his next assignments owing to his tremendous work ethic.
?Me, my brother John Ray and my team knew that Gaballo will be a champion since he was 15 years old. That?s how confident we are with Gaballo,? Manangquil declared.
