ORMOC FIGHTERS FEATURED IN SATURDAY NIGHT SLAMBANG PhilBoxing.com Mon, 30 Apr 2018 ![]() Saturday night proved the bounty of talented fighters in Ormoc as local fighters showcased their combat skills in the Gladiators of Modern Ages II (GOMA) held at the Ormoc City Superdome. In the Mixed Martial Arts Main Event, Paul Paclibari of Ormoc Yawyan Team Fox easily dispatched Cebu?s Macario Castillote via round one TKO. Paclibari proved to be the more skilled fighter as he immediately stormed Castillote with a barrage of strikes from the opening bell with a follow-up takedown and ending ground and pound forcing the referee to call it a fight. The boxing supporting bout had Jayson Casimero, elder brother of World Champ Johnriel Casimero salvage a draw against Gelmar Ledres. Casimero injured his right hand in the opening round thus minimizing his work rate. The MMA co-main event showcased Limuel Lazarte of Ormoc scoring a first round TKO victory against a younger Khim Olila. Lazarte wasted no time by raining strikes on Olila from opening round. Olila was caught in the corner and had no answer for Lazarte?s merciless attack thus prompting the referee to stop the fight. In the undercards, Jimboy Patenio outboxed Renan Amper scoring a majority decision win. Regie Parilla took home a first round TKO win againt Vincent Mojado. Christopher Castro of Ogmok Top Team outclassed Anthony Rein via majority decision. In a kickboxing match, Joeben Rama dominated Regan Capangpangan coming up with a unanimous decision win. In the Brazilian Jiujitsu exhibition match, John Perez and Vince Matriano fought to a draw. The event was organized by Mr. Ruffy Mendola of the UMMAC & Ogmok MMA and Fitness Center and was supported by the City Government of Ormoc under the leadership of Mayor Richard Gomez and Vice-Mayor Toto Locsin who graced the event.
