NBA -- Lakers turn tables on Denver, 112-103

Los Angeles -- Banged up and out of the playoffs picture by seven games the Los Angeles Lakers proved that they have a lot of fight left in them by beating the Denver Nuggets, 112-103, on Wednesday night at the Staples Center.
Bigs Kyle Kuza and Julius Randle each had 26 points and 13 rebounds while Brook Lopez added 17. Isaiah Thomas added 17 off the bench. The Lakers improved to 31-36, which is still a long way from a playoffs berth considering that the eighth and last playoffs spot in the Western Conference is behind held by the 38-30 Utah Jazz.
Wilson Chandler paced the visitors with 26 points while Nikola Jokic finished with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Jamal Murray chipped in 18. .
The loss dropped the Nuggets who dropped to 37-31. The Nuggets shot 38 of 86 from the field (44.2 percent), 13 of 40 from the field (32.5 percent).
Despite their best efforts, the Nuggets fell to the Lakers and fell six games behind for the last playoffs berth in the Western Conference.
