MANIATIS INDUCTED IN AUSSIE HALL OF FAME, HORN WINS 2017 AUSTRALIAN BOXER OF THE YEAR PhilBoxing.com Sun, 04 Mar 2018  Peter Maniatis was inducted into the Australian Boxing Hall of Fame for promoting boxing and also for the TV Show C31 KO Boxing Show and SEN Radio Show. Over the past 20 years he has promoting boxing events. ?Promoting is very hard work, Thanks to my sponsor Ultratune car Services and Mr Sean Buckley for always support boxing events in Australia and are great supporters of combat sports,? Peter Maniatis told philboxing. ?My work in the Philippines helped me with the award and also when filming a documentary on youtube about Cebu boxing in 2008 and C31 KO Boxing show. I was in Cebu over 1 month filming and also managing and promoting Filipino boxers in Australia and the Philippines like world rated Randy Petalcorin and also co promoting event in Cebu and General Santos and Manila also Petalcorin has had 4 bouts in Australia,? Maniatis stated. "Philippines is like my second home, the people enjoy boxing and the talent pool with boxers is deep. Most boxers just need a monthly allowance to train and if a promoter can invest money to harness the talent of boxer they will reach there full ability and compete at world class level I really enjoy promoting and managing.? ?On the media side of things I was very lucky to work alongside the late great Ronnie Nathanielsz who was also a phone up guest for SEN Radio Ringside Australia boxing show he taught me so much about media work and was a great friend and mentor,? Maniatis added. ?It was an honor to have the great Jeff Fenech present my award.? Maniatis also informed philboxing that Jeff Horn won the Australia fighter of the year for his rugged win over legend Manny Pacquiao and title defense against Gary Corcoran in front of 51,000 strong crowd in an out door event.
