GAB TO HOLD DIALOGUE WITH STAKEHOLDERS IN DAVAO PhilBoxing.com Thu, 01 Mar 2018 DAVAO CITY -- The Games and Amusements Board (GAB) is again holding a dialogue with its stakeholders in professional boxing for Mindanao on March 6 at the Grand Meng Seng Hotel here. It will start at 1 p.m. according to GAB Commissioner Mar Masanguid, a former barangay captain of R. Castillo in Davao City. ?We will again hold dialogues to our stakeholders to know their concerns and problems for the development of boxing,? said Masanguid, who accompanied undisputed IBF World super flyweight champion Jerwin ?Pretty Boy? Ancajas to a courtesy call to Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio last Feb. 23. ?We should not stop in helping our stakeholders especially our promoters,? said Masanguid. ?Kasi kung walang promotion, wala din tayong boxers na made-develop (Because if there is no promotion, we will also not be able to develop boxers),? said Masanguid, also founding president of the Solid Duterte Supporters Group ?D Original Nationwide. GAB, the government agency tasked to handle all professional sports, also conducted separate dialogues around the country including Davao last year. Among the topics to be discussed are Ratings Criteria, Amendments to Boxing Rules, License Renewal System, GAB-DOH Memorandum of Agreement and Boxing Gym inspection. Aside from Masanguid, also expected to grace the discussions are GAB Chairman Abraham Kahlil ?Baham? Mitra, Commissioner Edward Trinidad, Boxing Division Chief Dioscoro Bautista, Medical Chief Dr. Radentor Viernes and lawyer Benitez from Manila. They will be assisted by the GAB Davao Field Office under Officer-in-Charge Datu Fahd Sinsuat. Also attending are the officers and members of the Mindanao Professional Boxing Association (Minproba) led by its president Engr. Jilson Basang and the Mindanao Professional Ring Officials Association (MinPROA) headed by its president Brembot Dulalas. (LITO DELOS REYES)  |
