PHOTOS: NIETES STOPS REVECO IN 7TH
By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Sun, 25 Feb 2018

IBF world flyweight champion Donnie 'Ahas' Nietes of the Philippines made an emphatic statement in his HBO debut by stopping his mandatory challenger and former world champion Juan Carlos Reveco of Argentina Saturday night (Sunday morning in Manila) at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
Nietes dominated Reveco the whole night with his snake-like defense and venomous offense that saw Reveco almost out of his fight as the bell sounded to end the sixth round. In the seventh, Nietes pursued his prey as Reveco was on his back foot to try to survive but Nietes finally caught up with him and send the hapless Argentinian to the canvas for the first time. Reveco beat the count but Reveco's corner saw enough punishment and stop the fight.
Nietes, the Philippines' longest reigning world champion, successfully retained his IBF world title belt and continue to be in elite form since 2007 when he won his first world title at minimumweight.
