RECAP: MAYWEATHER-McGREGOR BROOKLYN PRESSER

PhilBoxing.com

The Media tour for Mayweather and McGregor has made its 3rd stop in Brooklyn NY at the Barclays Center. It was a night filled with trash talking and antics from both sides in front of a crowd that the majority was pro-McGregor. Irish flags and ?Ole? chants filled the stadium.

The fighters came late and made their entrances. Swiss Beats and Doug E Fresh headlined the conference, attempting to stall for time before the fighters arrived and made their way out to the stage.

As the crowd waited in anticipation to see how this tour stop would be, seeing as the last two were entertaining, began booing loudly as others such, as executive vice president and general manager of Showtime Sports Stephen Espinoza, tried to speak, prompting him to speak quickly and move things along faster.

McGregor donned a white fur coat while being shirtless underneath. Conor even stated how he does not care how hot is it (referencing his fur coat) and proceeded to say that the Barclays should ?crank up the AC.?

Amidst concerns and criticisms of Conor making racist remarks and being a racist, he addressed them by stating ?Do they not know I?m half black? From the belly button down!? McGregor also began to making humping motions in the air claiming that was for the black females in the audience.

Mayweather jokingly followed McGregor while McGregor was going on in a rant, snapping ?selfies?. Mayweather seemed more cool and collected and McGregor did not seem to be able to get under Mayweather?s skin as he did in the previous tour stop.

Mayweather began his onslaught of what seems to be turning in a back and forth roasting session instead of a media tour. Mayweather pulls out a bookbag. Telling the DJ to play some ?music for the stripper (referring to McGregor)?. Out of the bookbag Maywheather pulls out money and begins tossing it in the air over McGregor. McGregor picks up one of the bills, and scoffs ?they?re ones, where is the real money!??

The crowd turned on Mayweather whenever they could even while he was doing is ?hard work, dedication? chant many in the crowd would answer his ?Hard work? chant with ?Tax Evasion? and even chanting ?pay your taxes!?

A scuffle almost broke out when Mayweather tells his team to ?Form Voltron? in which they all surround McGregor and his team starting a tense standoff with shoving while Mayweather began shadowboxing several feet away.

The Mayweather and McGregor world media tour is being seen as a circus, back and forth roast sessions all mixed in with the WWE. To many this is very entertaining. Executive vice president and general manager of Showtime Sports Stephen Espinoza commented on the vulgar and outrageous behavior stating:

?I don?t have kids, but I can imagine that would be alarming. Having said that, if you know anything about these two guys, this isn?t the WWE. It?s not family friendly. Do I condone all of the language? No. But at the same time, this is combat sports, and tempers are flaring. It?s getting heated, and it?s very authentic and off-the-cuff. I don?t excuse it, but I certainly understand where it comes from.?

Stephen Espinoza also verified that there will be an All Access production for these two fighters which premieres on Showtime, July 28th at 10:00PM ET. Dana White also verified that there is no rematch clause in the contract. The fight will be held August 26th 2017 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas at a weight of 154 lbs. The fighters will be using 10oz gloves.
