MANNY PACQUIAO: "HORN IS A SCHOOL TEACHER BUT I AM TEACHER IN BOXING"

PhilBoxing.com

?My preparation has been very good,? declared eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao referring to the fight with challenger Jeff Horn as quoted by The Courier Mail. ?Jeff Horn is a school teacher but I am a teacher in the boxing ring. The fighting senator is confident of victory that he was not nervous of the fight at Suncorp Stadium and that ?he sleeps soundly.? He is confident of bringing home the bacon and would fly back to the Philippines right after the fight still the WBO world welterweight champion.

Grantlee Kieza noted that the champ is most dangerous when he is attacking from the side and ?he is constantly rehearsing the shock punches.? It was reported that Pacquiao?s most dangerous technique will be to slip beneath Horn?s left jab, then from the ducking position hop to Horn?s left, then a little step to the right and ?try to nail Horn with a right hook and the booming straight left cross? which was the devastating knockout weapon he had been using in his boxing career.

Trainer Freddie Roach anticipated the fight to be ?short and sweet.? He called Horn a dangerous guy but will have a terrible shock when he experiences Manny?s hustle. ?Horn has never seen anything like the speed Manny brings to the ring and he won?t be able to handle it.?

Russel Westbrook concluded his momentous achievements in the 2016-17 NBA season by winning the Most Valuable Player award at the introductory awards night. The Oklahoma City Thunder guard averaged 31.6 points, 10.4 assists and 10.7 rebounds in an explosive season. He bested his competitors by garnering 69 out of the possible 101 first-place votes in the ballots. Houston Rockets? James Harden got 22, San Antonio Spurs? Kawhi Leonard 9, and Cleveland Cavaliers? LeBron James 1. Westbrook completed the season with 42 triple-double games and broke Oscar Robertson?s record of 41 in the 1961-62 NBA season. However, Robertson did not win the MVP award that time.

Draymond Green became the first player from the Golden State Warriors to garner the Defensive Player of the Year Award. Malcolm Brogdon of the Milwaukee Bucks was chosen Rookie of the Year, becoming the first ever second round draftee since the common drafting was adopted in 1966, to win the award for freshmen. Houston Rockets? Mike D?Antoni was voted Coach of the Year. While Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks was awarded Most Improved Player, being the only player in league history to finish top 20 in all five major categories ? points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. Eric Gordon of the Rockets was bestowed the Sixth Man Award. Executive of the Year was Bob Myers of Golden State Warriors for signing up Kevin Durant and becoming champions again.
