NBA PLAYOFFS -- Cavs destroy Celtics in Game 1 of the East Finals
By Paolo Catapang PhilBoxing.com Fri, 19 May 2017

WASHINGTON -- After so much anticipation, so much hype, Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals turned out be a sleeper as the Cleveland Cavaliers annihilated the Boston Celtics, 117-103, at the TD Garden.
LeBron James led the assault on Wednesday night with 38 points, 9 rebounds and seven assists as the Cavaliers remained unbeaten in these playoffs at 9-0.
While the four-time league MVP could have taken the Celtics all by himself, the King got of plenty of help, making matters worse for woeful Celtics.
Kevin Love swished six triples to finish with 32 points and 12 rebounds while Tristan Thompson added 20 and 9 boards. Kyrie Irving went under the radar 11 points and six assists, but that didn't matter as the Cavaliers made 39 of 81 field goals and 11 of 31 triples.
Isaiah Thomas led the Celtics with 17 and 10 assists, but the feisty 5-foot-9 sparkplug couldn't get any traction on offense, hitting just 7 of 19 field goals.
Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder each had 21 points for Boston, which sank 41 of 88 field goals and 12 of 38 threes.
Game 2 is Friday night (Saturday AM in Manila) tomorrow at the TD Garden.
