OMONGOS WINS IN AUSTRALIA

The losing streak of Filipino boxers in Australia, most of them in mismatches, has been broken.
Ariel Omongos, fighting as a welterweight, has scored a fourth round TKO over Australian Jason Kanofski at the Bronco Leagues Club in Brusbane. Referee Tony Kettlewell called a halt to the scheduled six round bout at 2:04 seconds of the fourth round.
Kanofski was dropped twice by Omongos, once in the opening round and once more in the third in which Omongos also hit the canvas.
Omongos who lost by a fifth round TKO in a battle for the IBO Asia Pacific and IBF Pan Pacific light middleweight titles to Ryan Waters last August 3 improved his record to 4-10 with 3 knockouts according to boxrec.com which also reported that the 20 year old Filipino lost five fights by knockout.
The 22 year old Kanofski dropped to 2-1-2 and was coming off two successive draws in his last two fights.
Omongos is among a stable of fighters of Filipino Dido Bohol who migrated to Australia several years ago. The only fighter of note in his stable is IBF Pan Pacific lightweight champion Ranee ?KO Kid? Ganoy.
