CONDES PROMOTER CALLS NAZARIO By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Fri, 07 Sep 2007 The partner of IBF minimum weight champion Florante Condes’ promoter Bobby Bostick Promotions, Cezar Trevino, has called Condes’ business manager Rod Nazario in an effort to resolve the problem of a title defense in Manila. Nazario told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that Trevino indicated he wanted to visit Manila to discuss Nazario’s plan to stage a rematch with Indonesia’s Muhammad Rachman on November 16 at the Ynares Center in Antipolo. Trevino reportedly broached the idea of some kind of partnership in the planned promotion even though he had earlier claimed they had arranged for a Condes fight against undefeated Mexican champion Raul "Rayito"Garcia (20-0-1, 15 KO’s) in La Paz, Mexico and insisted that Bobby Bostick was the only individual who was authorized to promote Condes’ fights worldwide. Nazario said "I don’t need any partners and I don’t want any trouble" and that he was no longer interested in promoting Condes’ title defense because of the confusion over the rights. However, Trevino reportedly told Nazario that he and Condes’ co-manager Aljoe Jaro now "understand each other" and he wished to move the career of Condes forward and planned to come to Manila sometime next week. Condes himself has made it clear he wants his first title defense to be held in the Philippines before his hometown fans and has refused to fight in Mexico. Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today learned that the contract forwarded for Condes’ signature indicated the fight against Garcia was a title fight and Condes’ purse only $17,500 and that he would be responsible for payment of the IBF sanction fee.
