JACK TEPORA STOPS GALIH SUSANTO IN 5, CAPTURES WBO ORIENTAL BELT
By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Sat, 03 Dec 2016

MANDAUE CITY, CEBU ? Rising undefeated Filipino super bantamweight Jack Tepora's power was too much for the visiting Indonesian Galih Susanto who kissed the canvas thrice en route to a 5th round TKO victory by Tepora who captured the vacant WBO Oriental super bantamweight title at the Mandaue City Sports & Cultural Center here Friday night in a well attended ?Who's Next 3? boxing event that was offered free to the public by Omega Pro-Sports International.
After a quite feeling out period in round one, Tepora (19-0-0, 14KOs) started to control the fight in the second round connecting with a right-left and then a right. Towards the end of the round, Tepora connected with a straight left that staggered the Indonesian. The power discrepancy became more evident in the 3rd round as Tepora begun to connect consistently with his left at Susanto (12-7-1, 2KOs) who displayed some speed by his counters could not find home. A heavy left by Tepora sent Susanto to the canvas towards the end of the 3rd round. At the start of the 4th, Susanto, who went the full distance against current world champion Marlos Tapales in their 2014 fight, scored with a right and moments later a headbutt cut Tepora's left eyebrow. In the fifth, it was apparent the Tepora's power was too much for Susanto as the Indonesian was battered by Tepora from pillar to post. Susanto went down in the first minute of the fifth round and at 2:30, went down against as Referee Tony Pesons waived off the fight.
In the post-fight interview, Tepora reiterates his desire to become a world champion and said he feels ready to face the champions of his division and mentions WBO champion Jessie Magdaleno and WBC champion Hozumi Hazegawa who he wants to fight next.
