Indianapolis Prospect Has Won First 11 of 12 Fights By Knockout, Including His Last Eight in First Round

Deerfield Beach, FL (Sept. 21, 2016) -- Young undefeated light heavyweight Anthony Sims Jr. of Indianapolis has signed a promotional contract with world-renowned Hall of Fame boxing promoter Don King.

The 21-year-old Sims has a professional record of 12-0 record with 11 knockouts. He?s a former No. 1-ranked United States amateur and earned a bronze medal at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Boxing Trials at the age of 17, becoming the youngest U.S. light heavyweight in the history of USA boxing to capture a medal at the Olympic Trials.

?I?m excited to sign with the legendary Don King, a true icon and a trailblazer who has promoted dozens of the biggest stars in boxing over the last 50 years, set box office and pay-per-view records, and promoted fights all over the world, including some of the most memorable fights of all time,? Sims said. ?I believe Don is perfectly suited to guide my career and give me the opportunities and platform to become a world champion and realize my dreams. I can?t wait to fight under the DKP banner.?

King is the architect and impresario behind the legendary The Rumble In the Jungle and Thrilla in Manila and countless other historic classic boxing events.

?Anthony Sims is an outstanding young man and extraordinary fighter, the type of kid who possesses magnificent skills with the raw talent and personality that can help transcend the sport,?? King said. ?The light heavyweight division is ripe for new blood and new beginnings and we?ve got just the young man in Anthony Sims.

?I?m delighted to be working with Anthony and his team and looking forward to taking him to the top.?

Sims made his professional debut in April of 2014 where he scored a four-round unanimous decision over James Lee Guy in Indianapolis. Since that fight, Sims has gone on to win the next 11 by knockout, including his last eight in the first round.

Representing USA Boxing in December 2012, Sims fought at the World Championships in Europe. He finished his amateur career ranked No. 5 in the world and with a record of 188-13, including 10 national titles.

Affectionately known as ?The Kid?, Sims is the son of former boxer Anthony Sims, who fought in the United States Army

King currently promotes former heavyweight world champion Bermane Stiverene (25-2-1, 21 Kos), a Haiti native living in Las Vegas who is scheduled to face Alexander Povetkin (30-1, 22 Kos), a former world titleholder and 2004 Russian Olympic gold medalist, for the vacant WBC interim title in a fight mandated by the WBC.
