Nietes, Magsayo, Villanueva head to LA for Philippines vs Mexico card

In preparation for ALA Promotions? Philippines vs Mexico which features the most-awaited flyweight debut of longest-reigning Filipino word champion, Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes against former world champion and WBC ranked #4 Edgar Sosa, Nietes, along with co-main fighters Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo and ?King? Arthur Villanueva, left Manila Saturday night bound for LA (photo).
The three, who are based in Cebu, stopped by in Manila to promote their fight at Stubhub Center in Carson, CA on September 24. Philippines vs Mexico is the third US event staged by ALA Promotions in partnership with Philippines? biggest network, Abs-cbn and TFC (The Filipino Channel).
The undefeated and current WBO International Featherweight champion Magsayo is featured as the card?s supporting fight while the rematch between Villanueva and Jimenez from Mexico completes the main line-up. Villanueva first encountered the Mexican earlier in May, under the Nietes-Garcia bout, for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific Bantamweight title Villanueva now holds.
The trio were being accompanied by ALA Gym head trainer Edmund Villamor and ALA Promotions matchmaker Edito Villamor.
