PhilBoxing.com

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (July 27) -- Stablemates ?Ruthless? Romero Duno and Reymart ?Gensan Assasin? Gaballo both knocked out their separate opponents while ?Magic? Mike Plania scored a convincing unanimous decision win in the triple main event of the Brawl at the Mall: The Next Generation held Sunday at the Gaisano Mall Atrium in General Santos City.

Duno, the current Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super featherweight champion, landed solid body shots for two separated knockdowns in the second and third round against former Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific Youth super lightweight champion Eusebio ?Raging Bull? Baluarte of Quezon, Bukidnon.

The 29-year old Baluarte finally quit during the rest period of the fourth round to give Duno a technical knockout victory. The 20-year old Duno improved to 10 wins with 9 KOs and 1 loss while Baluarte, also a former Philippine super lightweight and interim PBF welterweight title-holder dropped to 19 wins, 16 loses, 0 draw, 12 Kos.

Gaballo, on the other hand, remained undefeated by stopping his taller opponent Jilo Merlin in 1:55 of the fourth round also with a vicious left to the body.

Merlin, a former PBF super bantamweight champion, had earlier kept Gaballo at bay with is left jabs. But the hard-hitting Gaballo kept on attacking despite being hit also by Merlin?s jabs.

The 19-year old Gaballo finally caught Merlin with a solid left on the body for his 14th straight win and 12th knockout with no loss or draw.

?Tinamaan din niya ako ng mga jabs niya. Peron aka tiyempo ako sa tiyan nya,? said Gaballo.

The flashy Plania, a newly-crowned World Boxing Federation (WBF) International bantamweight champion also remained undefeated by beating Romulo ?Demon? Ramayan Jr. of Valencia City.

Plania knocked down Ramayan with a right hook in the first round and completely dominated the scheduled 8-rounder.

The 19-year old Plania used his ring savvy and even allowed Ramayan to throw his left-right punches in order to get inside.
?Kailangan ko rin siyang pasuntukin upang makalapit ako at ma open yun depensa niya,? said Plania, who improved to 11 wins with 4 KOs.

Ramayan dropped to 7-6-3.
