PROMISING Adam Diu ?Big Daddy? Abdulhamid of General Santos City is now ready to fight Russian Georgi Chelokhsaev for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) World Youth super lightweight title on June 24 in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
?Ready nako muaway sa Russia. Gitabangan pud ko sa akong mga kauban na mga boxers sa Sanman Gym,? said Abdulhamid, who has a fight record of 9 wins, 2 loses and no draw.
Abdulhamid is set to fly to Russia via China on June 20.
?He trained hard for this fight,? aid Sanman Promotions chief executive officer Jim Claude ?JC? Manangquil.
Abdulhamid was prepared by his trainer Dondon Jimenea and has sparred with his stablemates including Duno.
?It's a big opportunity and experience for Adam. We're looking forward for a positive result,? said Manangquil.
The 21-year old southpaw has won all his last six fights, three of them all by knockout. He previously knocked out Eusebio Baluarte in 46 seconds of the 6th round last March 8 in T'boli, South Cotabato.
Abdulhamid also stopped both by first round knockouts Rey dela Cruz and Hagibis Quinones last year.
Chelokhsaev, on the other hand, has also won all his last three fights, two by retirements. The 22-year old orthodox fighter previously stopped Alexey Tukhatarov last March 26 in the 5th round.
His only setback was from the hands of Vaginak Tamrazyan by a unanimous decision last August 10, 2015.
