Magsayo starts sparring sessions in LA PhilBoxing.com Thu, 16 Jun 2016 ![]() Although undefeated ALA prospect Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo, who is in LA together with brothers Albert and Jason Pagara, won?t be seeing action this July 9th, he has been in the US to prepare for his September 24 schedule at the Stubhub Center. After his big test against experienced and world title challenger Chris ?The Hitman? Avalos last April in Cebu City in the undercard of the Donaire vs Bedak world title fight, Magsayo says he has never been more challenged to develop every skill he?s got. His most recent fight showed another side of the knock out artist he was known as and mostly got him praises for the fighter that he is, after successfully giving Boxing fans a spectacular win despite the 3rd round knockdown he suffered from Avalos. His trip to the US to train early is part of what he has to undergo to improve and work on his raw talent according to his promoter, ALA Promotions International President/CEO Michael Aldeguer who said ?Magsayo still has so much weakness in his arsenal that needs work in the gym as shown in the Avalos fight? He is only 20 yrs old with 14 fights. He is not ready yet; he is far from fighting for a World title. Only time will tell what he can accomplish in the future.? Magsayo, on the other hand, sees this as a great opportunity to step up. ?I am grateful to both my manager and promoter that I was sent to train here in the US, because not a lot of fighters get the same chance. I?m happy to be here, but it?s also important that I focus on what I need to do while I?m here. I need to work on a lot of things, my defense, and focus, to name a few. The last fight I had made me realize that. I?ll work harder to show a better fighter on September.? Magsayo started 4-round sparring sessions at the Wild Card Gym early this week.
