PhilBoxing.com

HERMINATOR RETURNS TO CHINA JUNE 24

THE BLOSSOMING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CHINA'S NUMBER ONE PROMOTER LIU GANG AND BRENDON SMITH from Smithy's TGW Promotions will continue on June 24 with Herman Ene-Purcell to headline Liu Gang's next show on June 24 in Beijing.

It's set to be Gang's biggest show to date with two World titles, a sold out crowd of 18 000 and a television audience right across Asia and America.

Ene-Purcell will take his biggest step meeting Korean National Champion Jong Suk-Lee in a four round bout.

"This is a huge opportunity for me," Ene-Purcell said.

"A huge thanks to Mr Liu Gang and my trainer manager Brendon Smith for making this one possible.

"Its an honour and privilege to fight on Mr gang's card.

"The world stands up and takes notice of his shows and its a humbling experience to be a part of it."

Heman Ene-Purcell is quickly making a big name for himself in China.

"For Liu Gang to want Herman on this card shows what he thinks of Herman," Brendon Smith said.

"When the opportunity presented itself we jumped at it.

"Liu Gang is doing amazing things for the sport in China

"This will be the biggest yet.

"It's in Beijing, it will be a sell out and even more importantly for Herman it will be broadcast into millions of homes across Asia and America.

"This is massive, but in saying that we have a job to do.

"It's another must win for Herman.

"Jong Suk Lee is a quality opponent with 6 wins from 10 career bouts.

"He won a ten rounder to claim the Korean National title and has experience fighting across Asia.

"We need to make a statement here.

"It's a huge stage so we need a huge performance." Smith said

It's Ene-Purcell's most important fight to date with a win likely to open up bigger opportunities down the track.

"It's a must win," Ene-Purcell said.

"I understand it's a big task in front of me but I feel I am equal to it.

"I haven't had any time out of the gym this year from fighting Paul Gallen in January to Tom Heads in New Zealand in April and Moses Havea here in Toowoomba last week to take my record to 9 wins from 14 bouts..

"My goal is to fight for a Youth World title so these are the bouts I must win.

"I also want to repay the faith Mr Liu gang has shown in me.

"I'm treating this fight like a World title.

"I'll give myself every chance to get my hand raised as the victor on June 24."
