AMONSOT TO BE RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL TODAY
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Tue, 24 Jul 2007

The executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission Keith Kizer has informed Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that Czar Amonsot “is being released from the hospital this morning.”
Kizer said that both Amonsot who lost in a brutal battle with WBO lightweight champion Michael Katisidis in a title fight in Las Vegas last Sunday and former world super bantamweight champion Oscar Larios who suffered a knockout in the tenth round by 21 year old sensation Jorge Linares both suffered “very minor subdural hematomas but nothing that was life threatening.” Kizer said the bleeds are “very minimal.”
Both fighters were to be released after a series of tests conducted by specialists at the Valley Medical Center some ten minutes away from the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino where the fights took place.
Golden Boy Promotions vice president Eric Gomez was quoted by well known boxing writer Dan Rafael of ESPN as saying that Larios told him he had planned to retire after the fight.
Gomez revealed that after ringside doctors Jeff Davidson and David Watson had the two fighters sent for tests following their gruelling ring encounters, two CT Scans were conducted on Amonsot with the first being clear but the second from a different angle showed there was a “little bit of bleeding.”
Initial indications are that the Nevada State Athletic Commission won’t clear Amonsot to fight again because of stringent enforcement of regulations to protect fighters. Kizer said Amonsot was being “indefinitely suspended” because of the medical findings and will not be licensed to fight again in Nevada.
