CARLEANS RIVAS AVENGES PREVIOUS LOSS, DEFEATS LADY LOVE SAMPITON HANDILY TO WIN PHILIPPINE FEMALE FLYWEIGHT TITLE
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Mon, 22 Feb 2016

Carleans Rivas avenged her previous loss to RP female flyweight champion Lady Love Sampitan and regained the title with a handy six round decision in a fight card presented by emerging Japanese promoter Ryuta Kato and executive director Warren Evison at the Taguig City Sports Center last Saturday.
The comely Rivas was aggressive from the opening bell and kept Lady Love on the defensive throughout with her two-three-punch combinations that earned the nod of all three judges.
Jerold Tomeldan and British judge Robert Bridges who is based in Angeles City, Pampanga, had Rivas winning by a 60-53 shutout while the third judge Gil Co scored the fight also for Rivas but by a 59-54 margin.
Lady Love from the KO Aarrior Boxing Stable in Paranaque City was surprised by the quickness of Rivas from the Ana Rivas Boxing Stable in Angono, Rizal and had no answer for her swarming style although at times Lady Love tried to turn the contest into a rugged, grappling affair.
Surprisingly Lady Love Sampiton had a record of 2-4 with 1 knockout when she entered the ring as champion while Rivas who was cheered on by a group of supporters had a better record of 4-3-3 with no knockouts, but her boxing skills .proved more than enough to win the championship belt.
Both fighters were coming off losses with Lady Love Sampito suffering a 1st round knockout at the hands of the
Talented Samson Tor Buamas of Thailand last July 9 while Rivas lost by a 6th round unanimous decision to Tamao Ozawa of Japan in Kyoto last September 16.
