NBA --- Bulls part ways with Kirk Hinrich

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls have traded fan favorite Kirk Hinrich to the Atlanta Hawks for Justin Holiday and a future second round pick. The move was made just before the February 18 trading deadline.
It was a 3-team deal that also involved the Utah Jazz. But it meant saying goodbye 35-year old Hinrich, who spent 11 seasons with the Bulls since turning pro in 2003.
In exchange for Hinrich, the Hawks will move Shelvin Mack to the Jazz.
Holiday, who will now make Chicago his home, averaged a modest 2.4 points a game with the Hawks. Holiday won a title with the Golden State Warriors last season.
By trading Hinrich, Chicago saved about $2.9 million off the books, leaving them a little over $1.6 million in luxury tax.
Hinrich averaged 3.8 points and 1.7 assists in 35 games this season. He missed 18 games due to injuries and has played just 15.9 minutes an outing. Dealing with various injuries Chicago drafted Hindrich in the first round (7th overall ) in the 2003 NBA draft.
