MIAMI-- " Home is where the heart is".
After spending the last 11 out of 12 games on the road, the Miami Heat were finally back at American Airlines Arena, Sunday evening and used all 19,937 of its crowd's energy and dominated the visiting Atlanta Hawks 100-87.
The Heat displayed some crisp ball movement and terrific teamwork against the Hawks leading to five players in double figures with no Heat player attempting more than 14 field goals in the game. Chris Bosh led Miami with 18 points and 7 boards while Dwyane Wade and Loul Deng added 17 points a piece.
The Heat outscored the Hawks in the paint 52-30 and were out-rebounded as well 47-31. Miami led as much as 22 points in the contest.
"If you would have told me we would have been 9-8 this month, I don't think I would have liked it," Wade said after the game. "But with everything we've dealt with, went through and the way that we're playing, I think we can all like the way we're playing, You can feel the corner ."
Atlanta struggled shooting all night, sharpshooter Kyle Korver went scoreless, on 0 for 6 shooting and team only coverted 5 out of 22 attempts from beyond rainbow area.
Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer discussed their third straight loss post-game, ?We were in a big hole all night. Offensively we are not where we need to be, credit goes to Miami (HEAT) and their defense. Collectively we just have to play better and at some point we will find a way."
Paul Milsap and center Al Horford paced Atlanta with 17 points each and Jeff Teague chipped in 15 points in the loss.
Milsap later shared his sentiments about the Hawks' recent struggle, ?You have times like this during the season. This time, I feel like we?re struggling because we?re trying to do the right things, trying to make the right plays, trying to do things perfect and putting a lot of pressure on ourselves. I think it is going to pay off in the end. (If) we continue to do the right things, I think it is going to pay off.?
The Hawks will host the Dallas Mavericks, Monday while the Heat will travel to Houston, Tuesday.
