'ZORRO' SABALDE NOT AFRAID OF MORALDE

PhilBoxing.com

LIGHTWEIGHT Anthony ?Zorro? Sabalde of Cebu is not afraid of the undefeated knockout artist John Vincent ?Mulawin? Moralde of Davao City.

In fact, Sabalde also plans to score a knockout win against Moralde in their championship fight for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International featherweight title on Feb. 13 in the main event of the ?Brawl at the Mall: Glory? at the Gaisano Mall Atrium in General Santos City.

?Wala ko na hadlok sa iyaha maski pag naka patay na siya (Moralde) ug kalaban (I?m not afraid of him even though he killed already an opponent),? added Sabalde.

Moralde (14 wins, 7 Kos, 0L, 0D), captured the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council Continental featherweight title via a unanimous decision against previous undefeated Australian Brayd Smith on March 14, 2015. Smith died two days later due to head injuries.

?OK ra na siya. Kung naka patay man si Moralde part mana sa boxing. Wala sad toy suerte iyang kontra (That?s OK. If Moralde had killed someone that is part of boxing. His opponent was only not lucky.),? added Sabalde, who has won his last two fights against Bonnie Makiling (unanimous decision) and Phil Angcamor (4th round by retirement).

?Murag sa akong tan-aw mag-abot dyud me ug round (The way I see it, our fight will reach the whole round),? said Sabalde in his text message.

The former two-time regional amateur boxing gold medalist, however, also wants to win by a knockout if given a chance.
?Pero kung naay chance na tumbahon si Moralde, tumbahon nako siya (But if there is a chance to knock down Moralde, I will knock him down),? said the 23-year old Sabalde, who has a record of 10 wins with 5 knockouts against 4 loses and no draw.
The 5-foot-7 Sabalde already has a total of more than 90 rounds of sparring with Adones Aguelo and Neil John Tabanao at the Rex ?Wakee? Salud Boxing Gym under the watchful eyes of trainer Brix Flores.

Sabalde said that his fight against Moralde is very important and that he will do everything in order to win.

The 21-year old Moralde, however, had also earlier said that he will be going for a knockout against the southpaw Sabalde.
?If given a chance, I will knockout him out,? said the 5-foot-7 Moralde who fights for the Sanman Promotions in General Santos City.

Moralde is now more inspired to win because his live-in partner is already 4-month old pregnant with their second child. They already have a 5-year old son.

Moralde, who has already started hard training and has been sparring with WBF Asia Pacific featherweight champion Rimar Metuda (9W-0L-0D-4KOs) and fellow undefeated featherweight Romero Duno (8W-0L-0D-7KOs) wants to become a future world champion.

But Sabalde, who is still single, is not affected but is more determined to give Moralde his first-ever defeat in his pro career.

"Makita ra unya ni sa among duwa kung kinsay mangutamba namo (Let's just see whoever gets knocked out during the fight)," said Sabadle. "Ang akong ikapasalig kay maningkamot jud ko og maayo kay mao ni labing dako na away ug lig-on pug akong kontra (All I can promise is that I will give my best shot because this is the biggest fight of my career and I'm up against a tough opponent))

Sabalde is reluctant to make any predictions but said that if opportunity presents itself, he won't waste even a single second in knocking the lights off Moralde.

"Akong mensahe ni Moralde nga unta nindot nga duwa ang iyang ihatag niya nako aron malingaw ang tag GenSan (I hope Moralde will give me a good fight for the Gensan fans to enjoy," Sabalde said.

Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude ?JC? Mananquil said the boxing show is again free to the public. The Brawl at the Mall: Glory is promoted by the Sanman Promotions and co-presented by the Gaisano Mall of Gensan. (PR)
