UNBEATEN ?MULAWIN? MORALDE EYES KO WIN OVER ?ZORRO? SABALDE

PhilBoxing.com

Unbeaten featherweight John Vincent ?Mulawin? Moralde is eyeing a knockout victory over tough Anthony ?Zorro? Sabalde when they clash for the vacant World Boxing Federation International featherweight title at the Atrium of the Gaisano Mall in the emerging hotbed of boxing in General Santos City on February 13.

The fight card put together by Sanman Promotions headed by its youthful CEO Jim Claude ?JC? Manangquil is titled ?Brawl at the Mall: Glory.?

The promising 21 year old Moralde who has a record of 14 wins with 7 wins coming by way of knockouts and no defeats has promised that ?if given a chance, I will knock him out.?

It won?t be that easy as Moralde himself conceded that Sabalde with a record of 10 wins, 4 losses and 5 knockouts to his name ?is not a patsy and is a good boxer.?

After the southpaw Sabalde dropped a decision to unbeaten Jessie Cris Rosales who had a record of 13-0-1 with 5 knockouts.

He came back and won his last two fights against Donnie Makiling on November 24, 2014 and veteran Phil Angcamor who had a total of 38 fights when he entered the ring.

Sabalde, a southpaw from Cebu won a ten round unanimous decision over Donnie Makiling on November 24, 2014 before disposing of Angcamor who retired at the end of the 4th round.

Moralde has said he will ?look for just one mistake that he (Sabalde) may possibly commit and I will take advantage of it.?

Moralde captured the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental featherweight title over Brayd Smith, the undefeated 23 year old Australian, on March 14, 2015.

Moralde won a one-sided bout and Smith passed away two days later as a result of a blood clot in the brain with doctors at Brisbane?s Princess Alexandria Hospital apparently unable to stop the swelling according to well-known Australian promoter Peter Maniatis.

Manangquil has set ambitious goals for Moralde should he win impressively. He is talking about a possible title bout against former WBO featherweight champion Evgeny Lomachenko who turned down an offer to fight WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire because he was having a hard time making the 122 pound limit.

The other fighter Manangquil has in mind is the awesome WBA champion Leo Santa Cruz who is unbeaten with 31 wins, 1 draw and 17 knockouts who is slated to face Spain?s former world champion ?Kiko? Martinez in a WBA title showdown.

Moralde has indicated he ?wants to fight the best. I am confident with my ability and I perform better under pressure. I will just train harder in the gym and be ready for whoever they put in front of me.?
Moralde is even more motivated to win since his wife is expecting their second child.

Moralde has been sparring with WBF Asia Pacific featherweight champion, undefeated Rimar Metuda (9-0, 4 KO?s) and another unbeaten featherweight Romero Duno (8-0, 7 KO?s) and veteran Jason Egera (21-6, 10 KO?s.
