PRINCE ALBERT PAGARA TO FACE FORMER WORLD CHAMPION JUAN CARLOS SANCHEZ

PhilBoxing.com

Unbeaten 21 year old WBO Youth Intercontinental super bantamweight champion Prince Albert Pagara will face former world super flyweight champion Juan Carlos Sanchez, the same fighter who gave Cesar Juarez a furious battle but lost a close decision. Juarez fought a brutal battle with former five division world champion Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire who won the vacant WBO super bantamweight title in Puerto Rico last Saturday.

ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer announced the eagerly awaited showdown on February 27 in another blockbuster "Pinoy Pride" fight card to be held at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu.

The 24 year old Sanchez has a record of 20-4-1 with 9 knockouts and won the vacant IBF super flyweight title with a twelve round
unanimous decision over Roberto Domingo Sosa on June 8, 2013 and also scored a rousing 9th round knockout over former Filipino world champion Rodel Mayol.

Pagara is undefeated with a record of 25-0 with 18 knockouts and is coming off an impressive 6th round knockout win over vaunted southpaw William Gonzalez in ALA Promotions first venture in the US at the StubHib Center in Carson City, California last October 17.

Prince Albert who engaged Donaire in a terrific sparring session at the ALA Gym in Cebu when they were both preparing for fights, is expected to face an acid test against the Mexican southpaw.

Aldeguer who marveled at the Donaire-Juarez epic told the New Standard/boxingmirror.com that Sanchez had already signed the fight contract and Pagara who has been on light training will now step up his preparation for the Sanchez fight on a terrific card which will include undefeated featherweight Mark "Magnifico" Magsayo and promising youngster KJ Cataraja.

Aldeguer said they want to see whether Prince Albert has the potential to become a world champion telling us, "we got to know how far he can go."

He described Sanchez as an aggressive fighter who comes forward but "is more versatile than Juarez."
