NBA -- Heat consumes Grizzlies, 100-97 By Roman David Garay PhilBoxing.com Tue, 15 Dec 2015 ![]() MIAMI -- Down eight with a shade over 3 minutes to go, Miami stared at a possibly fourth consecutive loss this season. But like most good teams do, the Heat rose to the occasion and went on an 11-0 run down the stretch behind another clutch performance from star Dwayne Wade, who was cold the first 3 quarters, to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies 100-97, at the American Airlines Arena Sunday evening. Wade delivered four of Miami's final six points including a go-ahead jumper and Miami's first lead in the game with 21.9 left in the ballgame. Wade shrugged off an awful shooting night, nailing just 7 out of his 16 attempts en route to 14 points and 4 rebounds. ''Dwayne's uncanny,'' Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra spoke after the Heat game. ''He can play absolutely horrible stretches of basketball and have the quickest memory, and all of a sudden get to the last two minutes and he has incredible confidence. Sometimes when you don't know where to go, that's always a great option, having a Hall of Famer.'' Spo added. ![]() ![]() Chris Bosh paced Miami with 22 points and Gerald Green added 16 points including three free throws with 1:31 left. It was a bitter sweet homecoming or some sorts for Memphis Grizzlies reserve Mario Chalmers, who spent his first seven seasons with the Heat franchise and won 2 championships with them. Chalmers was emotional after a tribute video was shown overhead The Grizzlies led as much as 16 points in the contest before sputtering in the end. Forward Jeff Green scored a season-high 26 points while Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph added 12 points each for the embattled Memphis squad who also got drubbed big time by the Charlotte Hornets the night before. The Grizzlies are to return home Monday and face the Washington Wizards and the Heat will travel to Atlanta and battle the surging Hawks.
