HERMANATOR TURNS TO IRONMAN PhilBoxing.com Fri, 04 Dec 2015  CAINE ECKSTEIN JOINS TEAM HERMANATOR. Caine Eckstein may prove to be Herman Ene-Purcell's secret weapon for the re-match with Paul Gallen. HERMAN ENE-PURCELL had his first iron man training session with five-time Coolangatta Gold champion Caine Eckstein at Northcliffe Surf Club this morning. Eckstein put the Toowoomba based heavyweight through a range of exercises to help build strength, stamina and endurance. "That was tough," Herman Ene-Purcell said after the session. "I have added respect for what Ironmen do after today. "I have no doubt this will be of great assistance to me in the Gallen fight. "Caine really pushed me to my limits and it will be great to train with him a few days a week for the next two months. "This fight is going to be the biggest test of my career so I need to be at my best. "That's why we're adding this type of training to my routine," Ene-Purcell said. Caine Eckstein impressed with his new charge after his first session. "He went well," Eckstein said. "He moves well for a big guy. "It was definitely out of his comfort zone and I'm sure he will take great benefit from it. "I have no doubt it will improve his fitness, endurance and strength for the Gallen fight. "It's great to work with Herman and his trainer Brendon Smith. "When Brendon rang me asking would I help out I was only to happy to oblige. "I trained for a week under Brendon at Smithy's TGW gym in Toowoomba a few years ago so it's nice to host them in my back yard out here in the surf," Eckstein said. Brendon Smith added: "A huge thanks to Caine for his help. "He's the best in his field so who better to work with. "Not only will the training help him physically but it's also great mentally. "It breaks up the training so it's not always just in the gym. "We will be regulars down here on the Gold Coast working with Caine a few days a week. "The support from the Gold Coast has been fantastic. "Herman will have a lot of support for this one," Smith said.
