LA FIGHT CLUB MEDIA WORKOUT QUOTES

PhilBoxing.com

LOS ANGELES (December 2, 2015) - Fighters featured on the December 4 edition of LA FIGHT CLUBheld a special media workout session today ahead of their upcoming bouts at Westside Boxing Gym in Los Angeles. Christian "Chimpa" Gonzalez (11-0, 10 KOs), Oscar "El Jaguar" Negrete (11-0, 4 KOs), Ivan "Striker" Delgado (7-0-1, 2 KOs), and Los Angeles fan favorite Nick Arce (5-0, 5 KOs) were all in attendance showing off their punching power for the press. The fighters talked about their upcoming fights and gave their thoughts on the holiday season, sharing what they are thankful for as they prepare to face their opponents in the ring this Friday. Emilio Sanchez (10-0, 7 KOs) and Joshua Franco (2-0, 1 KOs), fighters not in attendance at today's event but also featured on the card, were also able to share their hopes for the holiday season.

Below is what the fighters had to say:

CHRISTIAN "CHIMPA" GONZALEZ, Super Featherweight Prospect:

Christian "Chimpa" Gonzalez and his brother Aldahir Gonzalez
"I know Alejandro Ochoa is a tough competitor, he comes to fight and has upset numerous undefeated fighters. He's never been knocked down or stopped; he's always won by decision. He has a lot of experience, and we're very aware of that. We know he's going to come to fight and put on a show, but I'm looking forward to it. In a way it motivates me, but that's not getting in my way.

"I'm looking forward to taking a little break. I think this is my last fight of the year, and I'm just going to take the rest of December off, not from running bbut from boxing to let my body rest. I've been busy this year; this is my fourth fight in 2015. I've been very busy so I'm planning for some rest and enjoy the holidays.

"I don't think I want to move up to 10 rounders any time soon, I think our next goal by the end of next year is to fight my first 10 rounder. Our plan was to fight six rounds this year, then start fighting eight rounds next year but it came a little earlier so we decided to do it. I feel good. We picked up on the training a little bit-more running, more sparring. Next year, our goal is to fight a 10 round fight.

"I am thankful for my family and their continuous support. I am thankful for all the blessings I have received this year and to belong to a family like Golden Boy Promotions. This year I celebrated by focusing on my training and spending time with my little brother. We had a
great workout at the gym in the morning and stayed in and watched Ladder 49 and End of Watch, two of my favorite movies."

OSCAR "EL JAGUAR" NEGRETE, Super Bantamweight Prospect:

"I have actually known my opponent for a long time. We fought twice before during my amateur days. I won the first time in Colombia, and he won in Mexico. We are tied now, and I am hoping to break that tie on Friday night.

"I think the fight will be very exciting for the fans. I know my style and his style will combine for an entertaining fight. We both have big hearts and are going to give it our all in the ring.

"On Thanksgiving, I went Christmas shopping. I wanted to make sure that I took advantage of the stores opening early and get a few things for my family. I am grateful for my career; my family here and in Colombia; that we are all healthy; my four victories this year; and my fifth one on Dec. 4, God willing. That I am a part of the Golden Boy Promotions team, and I am very grateful for all the support from fans, family and friends."
IVAN "STRIKER" DELGADO, Super Featherweight Prospect:

"I have been working very hard for this fight. I want to end the year on a high note and make sure I look good winning. I know Lizarraga Jr. went six rounds against Diego De La Hoya, and I am prepared for whatever he brings to the table.

"I am looking forward to the holidays, but I plan on maintaining my weight and staying in shape. I want to be ready for a fight in early January. My hope of the upcoming year is to stay undefeated and move up to a co-main or main event.

"This past Thanksgiving, I spent the day in the gym preparing for my fight. I am thankful for each day, to be blessed with health, a great team and family. This all motivates me to be focused and be stronger everyday."

NICK ARCE, Super Featherweight Prospect:

"Ali is a tough cookie. We've worked hard on this training camp and we had a good sparring this year at the Westside Boxing Gym -sparrings that come forward 100 percent and that are pushing me to the max. We've trained really hard for this fight, and we know what we are up against. We're ready.

"I'm looking forward to a little vacation after the fight because I missed Thanksgiving so I couldn't eat ham, turkey or mashed potatoes. I did spend the day with my family, and I am thankful for the great support system I have around me and the great people I have in my life. I am truly blessed. This year I treated myself to a film, CREED, and we are planning a big dinner celebration after my fight next week."

EMILIO SANCHEZ, Super Bantamweight Prospect:

"I just want to say that this year has been a great year for me and my family. I am thankful for our health and for having them by my side. I am also very thankful for having a great team with Frank Espinoza as my manager, Golden Boy Promotions, my promoter, and Manuel Robles as my trainer. I want to thank my team for all their support and their faith in me as a fighter. I am especially thankful for my parents who have always been there for me and supporting me. I promise them that things are only going to get better for me."

JOSHUA FRANCO, Super Flyweight Prospect:

"I had a great Thanksgiving, I spent the morning doing an intense workout with my trainer, Robert Garcia and then spent the evening with Robert's family. I am thankful to have him as my trainer and have him and his family be my family away from home. I'm looking forward to seeing my family this holiday season and taking some time off to refresh for a busy 2016. Next year, my goal is to be at eight round fights and be ready for a title bout in 2017."
