2015 BATANG PINOY NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS BOXING COMPETITION: SEMIFINAL RESULTS

PhilBoxing.com

Day four of the youth fistic event in Cebu Coliseum saw five pairs of young ladies take center stage as they try to outwit and outbox their respective opponents. The semifinal rounds featured thirty-one bouts and marked the staging of the first few matches in women's boxing in the tournament. It is highly discernible from the start that spectators await in anticipation for young ladies to show their knack in this manly art of pugilism. And it cannot be argued that the most deafening cheers of the night from the crowd belongs to the courageous young lady boxers.

First bout in the Kids division, Vacuum weight is a close SD for Rodel Gamo of Bago City vs. Kenneth Magpatoc of Panabo City, next came is another close SD win for Cebu Province's Alexander Bonita over Jhon Carl Casas of CDO.

Kids, Minimum weight: Moemen Kalibo of Aleosan, Cotabato Province registers a DQ win over Mark Canoy of Cebu City and Jhayvie Donaire, a lanky fighter from Maasin City defeats Carl Jhon Austria of Panabo City and move on to the gold medal match.

Kids, Powder weight: John Mark Miranda of Tayabas, Quezon wins a SD over Myrwen Aballe of Panabo City while Cebu City's pride, Eduardo Jimenez scores a UD vs. Angelo Bulasa of CCSI.

School boys, Mosquito weight: Jame Ian Pangga of CDO City relied on accurate punching to outscore a very mobile Jhon Nino Vega of Mandaue City while constant sparring partners Keyt Nino Abatayo of Cebu Province and John Paul Gabunilas of Cebu City engaged in a memorable slugfest to the delight of the audience. While Gabunilas' inside work was quite effective, the shifty pug from Cebu Province proved much more precise in long-range combat to register a SD win.

School boys, Light Paper weight: Dexter Louie Racoma of Agusan del Sur scores a UD against Roldan Hablero of Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat while Ramil Pingol of LSA defeats via UD King Constantino Rigor of Labangal, GenSan.

School boys, Paper weight: Jefferson Calinawan of CDO City registers a third-round knockdown over Limbert Cainap of Cebu City and scores a UD win. Glenn Dumam-ag of Mandaluyong City, who fought with a swollen right eyelid defeats via UD Roy Jones Crisostomo, whose namesake reminds us of the 1990's Fighter of the Decade, Roy Jones, Jr.

School boys, Light Pin weight: Berland Robles' run of first round TKO wins in the tournament was cut short when he settled for a UD win over Adrian Rosal of Cebu City. The Cebu province pug engaged Rosal in a close quarter battle of sheer guts and will. Ar-jay Recopelacion of Labangal, GenSan wins via UD over Anthony Quintana of CamSur.

School boys, Pin weight: bemedaled Lloyd Jabez Antoque of Tagbilaran City UD's Jomar Orperia of La Union Province and Milenino Anduyan of LSA defeats John Ednoel Prevendido of Davao City via UD.

In the end, the judges favors the Panabo City-native's accurate work over Sios-E's volume punching for a SD victory.

School boys, Light Bantam weight: Philip Kenneth Gensola of Cotabato Province made good use of his height and reach advantage to suppress the attacks of his shorter opponent in Jhon Nieko Mendez of Mandaue City, registering a UD win. Jet Bruce Fornes of Panabo City wins a UD against Jasper John Anida of Bago City
