GALLEN: KNOCKOUT IS HERMAN'S ONLY CHANCE

PhilBoxing.com

Paul Gallen believes Herman Ene-Purcell only has a puncher's chance of winning on January 29 at Rumours International.

"I know I'll be the better boxer, I'll be fitter and I'll be stronger than him so his only chance is a knock out," Paul Gallen said exclusively to James O'Shea from Smithy's TGW Promotions in his first interview about the fight.

"Anyone who knows me knows I train my backside off whether it's rugby league or boxing.

"At the moment I'm in pre-season training with the Sharks, I'll have a short break with my family then I'll concentrate fully on Herman.

"I understand I'll be the most hated man in Toowoomba on January 29 but I have no dramas fighting him in his back yard.

"I hope the city of Toowoomba does well out of it and I'm happy to be a part of it," Gallen said during a short break from training with the Sharks.

It's a re-match that promises to have a bit of everything. Ene-Purcell has chased the re-match for some time and now he has his wish.

Gallen climbed off the canvas in the opening round of their first bout to stop the Hermanator in round 2.

"I'm a little bit annoyed with how they've carried on since the first fight," Gallen said.

"And I think they could've went about negotiating this fight in a better way but we're here now and there shouldn't be any excuses from either camp come January 29.

Gallen is undefeated in four professional bouts while Ene Purcell has improved his record to seven wins and four losses.

"In the first fight I was on debut and he had already had 2 fights,"Gallen said.

"This time around it will be my fifth and his twelfth so again he will have almost three times the experience I do.

"I've been to Toowoomba before about thirteen years ago for a NRL country tour and I look forward to returning.

"I know people will be giving it to me but that's all part of it.

"I don't know what you blokes are going to do when I retire.

"You will have to find someone else to hate," Gallen said.
