By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Mon, 02 Jul 2007
International Boxing Federation mandatory challenger Florante "The Little Pacquiao" Condes of the Philippines has just boarded the plane that will take him to Jakarta for his July 7 showdown with IBF 105-lb king Muhammad Rachman.
Team Condes took a Philippine Airlines flight PR 503 set to arrive in Jakarta around noontime. Upon their arrival, the group will then head straight to Hotel Novotel, their home during their stay.
Joining Condes and manager Aljoe Jaro in the trip are his Filipino trainer Francisco Jaro and lawyer Joaquin Mendoza.
"We have done everything humanly possible to prepare for this fight. This is our biggest fight to date and we did our assignment in the gym. We are highly confident of an upset," said manager Aljoe Jaro while doing final check-in procedures at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Other members of Team Condes coming from the Las Vegas, USA include co-manager Dante Ortiz, promoter Bobby Bostick, Cesar Trevino and ex-WBA world champ Morris East. The group is set to touch down in Jakarta on July 3.
The bout's officials, including fight supervisor Lindsey Tucker of the US, referee Wayne Hedgepeth of the U.S. and the judges working the bout will arrive on July 5th.
