NBA -- Pelicans can't figure out Magic, lose fourth straight
By Absalon Inocian, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Thu, 05 Nov 2015

NEW ORLEANS ? The New Orleans Pelicans' bad start to the season continued on Tuesday night when they fell to the Orlando Magic, 103-94, at the Smoothie King Center.
The Pelicans shot poorly from the field, making just 32 of 90 field goals while dropping to 0-4 and last place in the Southwest Division of the very tough Western Conference.
?Really disappointed. Disappointed all around really, I didn?t think we competed at the level that we needed to win.? Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry expressed his disappointment during the post-conference.
?I thought we didn?t do a very good job defensively, we got back cut? I didn?t think our offense got any rhythm to what we?re doing. We just got a lot of work to do. Time to do it right away,? Gentry added.
Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis tallied 14 points and nine rebounds, but he made only 3-of-12 field goals. Eric Gordon topped New Orleans with 21 while Jrue Holiday and Ryn Anderson each had 14.
?I feel very comfortable. I just got to make shots,? Davis said as his team hopes to rebound on Friday (Nov. 6) when the Pels host the Atlanta Hawks.
It was Orlando's first win in four starts, a victory made possible by Evan Founier who registered 30 points. Nikola Vucevic contributed 22 points and Victor Oladipo added 12.
NOTES. Pelicans? injury update: Kendrick Perkins (right pectoral), Quincy Pondexter (left knee surgery), Norris Cole (left ankle sprain) and Tyreke Evans (right knee surgery) were out. Omer Asik (right calf strain) was questionable and did not play.
