EARLY RESULTS FROM LAS VEGAS: PEARSON, DAVIS, GAVRIL STOP FOES

MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA -- Gervonta Davis, Ronald Gavril, Ashley Theophane and Trakwon Pettis were all victorious in the early bouts on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather vs Andre Berto 'High Stakes' fight Saturday night at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino.
Here are the early results:
5th fight: Chris Pearson of Dayton OH (13-0-0, 10KO) TKO Janks Trotter of Alberta, Canada (9-2-1, 9KO). Referee Robert Byrd stops the fight at 2:59 of round 7.
4th fight: Recky Dulay of Philippines (8-2-0, 5KO) was dropped twice by Gervonta Davis of Baltimore (12-0-0, 11KO) and gives up! Time 1:34 of Round 1.
3rd fight: Ronald Gavril of Romania (14-1-0, 9KO) stops Scott Sigmon of Bedford, VA (27-8-1, 14KO) at end of round 8. Referee Jay Nady stops the fight (top photo).
2nd fight: Ashley Theophane of London, UK (39-6-1, 11KO) wins by unanimous decision over Steven Upsher of Philadelphia (25-5-1, 6KO). Scores: 100-90, 98-92, 97-93.
First fight: Trakwon Pettis (1-0-0) of Atlanta drops Devante Seay (0-1-1) of Martinsville, VA 3 times in round one and Referee Tony Weeks stops the fight at 2:24 of the round.
