NIETES IN DUBAI
By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Wed, 05 Aug 2015

MANILA ? As an added incentive to boxing fans in Dubai, UAE, the Philippines' longest reigning world champion Donnie 'Ahas' Nietes will grace 'Pinoy Pride 32' which features the Pagara brothers Albert and Jason this coming Friday, August 7, at the World Trade Center in Dubai.
Nietes, who will be in his 8th year next month as an undefeated WBO minimumweight and junior flyweight world champion, will be in Dubai upon the invitation of Philippine network giant ABS-CBN who together with ALA Promotions, is staging the Dubai event.
?This is my first time in Dubai and I'm excited to be there,? Nietes said while waiting for his flight at the NAIA. ?A lot of my friends in Dubai want to me to go around and see the best places in the city,? Nietes added.
Asked what he thinks of the Pagara fights, Nietes said ?These are exciting fights but I think Albert and Jason will stop there opponents in the middle rounds. Also Jimrex [Jaca, who is fighting on the undercard] will have his hands full because I heard his opponent is good.?
Nietes said he will most likely return in the ring in November in Bacolod against a yet determined opponent. He's been told by his ALA handlers that he could be fighting, if not in his next fight, sometime in the future, former world champion and WBO No. 2 junior flyweight Akira Yaegeshi of Japan or WBA junior flyweight champion Ryoichi Taguchi, also of Japan, for a unification bout. Taguchi watched Nietes' fight against Francisco Rodriguez last month in Cebu.
