OSCAR DE LA HOYA, BERNARD HOPKINS, SHANE MOSLEY ... MANNY PACQUIAO?

PhilBoxing.com

The questions surrounding Manny Pacquiao's direction in boxing need to be answered by Manny himself.

First did he not want his name linked with De La Hoya, Hopkins and Mosley considering Golden Boy Promotions seems to be welcoming him with very open arms and the elite boxers seem to get the fights they want for the optimum financial gain. Bernard Hopkins who managed himself used to have plenty to say about not getting the right money or exposure. Now his name is along side with De La Hoya and he seems to be the most relaxed man in boxing.

What does Top Rank offer Manny Pacquiao that makes him choose to let them promote him over Golden Boy? It doesn't seem to be the big name fights Manny wanted, so obviously money isn't the reason either.

Top Rank seem to be building Manny towards the big fights and the big pay days. Joan Guzman and Edwin Valero are great fight match ups but not the most lucrative and certainly not easy tune ups for super money showdowns with Juan Manuel Marquez and Marco Antonio Barrera.

Manny Pacquiao's advisors seem to look out for the best interest of Top Rank rather than Manny, But then again advisors and managers need to get paid as well.

Manny needs to state what he wants himself and make his own decisions. Only then will he truly see the most lucrative and secure path to take. At the moment it looks like he is just adding more and more advisors and promoters to his camp to split his purse up with when he has to negotiate with Golden Boy to fight Juan Manuel Marquez, if he gets past Guzman and Valero.

If Manny makes the right decision he will be able to provide more funds for himself his management and anyone else he feels is part of his team. The more he voices his opinion the better everyone will get to know Manny Pacquiao the man not just the warrior.

The right choice whether its Golden Boy or Top Rank will show the world that Manny Pacquiao can find out the truth end a conflict and help himself. Then he can help his people the way he wants to not as a puppet for others. He has already led the way for the Philippines to become a lucrative participant with in the world of boxing.

The fact that Top Rank and Golden Boy are travelling to the Philippines can only help in generating more funds and publicity to the sport, giving more opportunities to Filipino boxers.
The fact that Oscar De La Hoya plans to come to the Philippines himself to help promote a world cup of boxing, shows how one man's impact can give others an opportunity to progress. The website philboxing.com is flourishing as a chain reaction from Manny Pacquiao's breakthrough.

Filipinos around the world are united when Manny fights, he is a real Gladiator, Manny Pacquiao a modern day Maximus.
