No heroes? welcome for Petalcorin in Gensan

 Petalcorin.
DESPITE retaining his title via a sensational first round knockout, World Boxing Association (WBA) Interim junior flyweight champion Randy ?Razor? Petalcorin will not get a heroes? welcome in General Santos City.
?We will just pay a courtesy call to our city Mayor Ronnel Rivera,? said Petalcorin?s manager Jim Claude Manangquil in his text message Saturday night after their arrival in Manila from Beijing, China.
The 23-year old Petalcorin retained his crown by knocking out Chinese challenger Ma Yi Ming in 1:43 of the first round last Friday night at the Capital Gym in Beijing, China.
Petalcorin thrice knocked down Ming in the opening round to improve his record to 23 wins, 18 by knockouts with only one loss and one draw.
Petalcorin, however, had a heroes? welcome last year after he captured the interim WBA title by stopping Walter Tello via a 7th round TKO at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai, China last August 26.
Petalcorin, a native of Marilog in Davao City, is also the current Co-Fighter of the Year in the annual Gabriel Elorde Awards Night.
Petalcorin was a member of the Calinan amateur boxing team of the late City Councilor Louie Villafuerte before he turned pro and joined the Sanman Promotions in General Santos City. LITO DELOS REYES
