NBA Playoffs -- Warriors dust off slow start, take Game 2
By Laurence Agbulos PhilBoxing.com Tue, 21 Apr 2015

OAKLAND - The Golden State Warriors rallied from an early 13-point deficit to beat the New Orleans Pelicans, 97-87, and win Game 2 of their Western Conference quarterfinals on Monday night at the Oracle Arena.
Golden State, the No.1 seed overall throughout the playoffs, now hold a 2-0 series lead over the No.8 Pelicans. Game 3 of the best-of-7 affair shifts to the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on Thursday night (Friday AM in Manila).
New Orleans enjoyed a 28-15 advantage with 55 ticks to go in the opening quarter, but the lead quickly vanished as the Warriors went on a 38-24 tear in the second quarter. And in the second half, the Warriors defense held the Pelicans to just 35 points.
Klay Thompson paced the Warriors with 26 markers while Steph Curry punched in 22 and 6 assists. Draymond Green, who was referred to by Warriors head coach Steve Kerr as the "team's lifeline and "jack of all trades'," registered 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Leandro Barbosa sparked the bench with 12 points for the Warriors, who shot 44.2 percent from the field and 30 percent from 3-point land.
All-Star Anthony Davis had another huge night for New Orleans with 26 points and 10 boards. Eric Gordon finished with 23 while Tyreke Evans and Norris Cole had 16 and 11 markers, respectively.
After a rousing start, New Orleans went cold and shot just 31 of 82 field goals overall (37.8 percent). The Pelicans were also out-rebounded, 49-42, and they had only 21 assists against the Warriors' 27.
