PINOY PRIDE 30: DONAIRE TO ERASE DOUBTS
By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Fri, 27 Mar 2015

QUEZON CITY ? Nonito Donaire has been hounded by questions ever since that October night when he was overpowered by Nicholas Walters of Jamaica in six rounds. He has returned to the country of his birth to retool and rebuild his career. This Saturday, he will answer all the questions when he steps inside the ring against William Prado of Brazil.
Donaire has been candid about how he assesses his situation. In a press conference in Cebu, he answered a query about the possibility of losing in this bout by saying that if he could no longer compete at this level, then what?s the use of continuing?
During the final presscon for PINOY PRIDE 30: D-Day held Thursday at the Solaire Resort and Casino, Donaire stated that his fight against Prado will determine if he still has it.
?I have never gone down in my life,? Donaire said, ?I lost it for the past couple of years.? He said that he will have to ?re-invent? at this stage of his career. He is aware of the dangers and too aware of what is at stake. ?The fans will find out on Saturday.?
The multi-division champ also talked about the sacrifices he made for this fight; being away from his family, and having to go down one division back to 122 for a chance to win and NABF belt, a world ranking and a chance for another run at a world title.
He said that he has never backed down from a fight, but he knows he will have to wage a smarter fight against stronger opponents. Donaire feels there is still some unfinished business in his career, and that may take him back not just inside the ring with Walters, but with Guillermo Rigondeaux.
But he has to settle matters with Prado on March 28 at the historic Araneta Coliseum.
