CEBU CITY ? Defending champion Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes of the ALA Gym and Mexican challenger Carlos ?Chapito? Velarde easily made the division limit during the official weigh-in held Friday noon at Robinson's Fuente.

Nietes, who is recognized as world champion by the WBO and Ring magazine, stepped on the scales at 107.5 lbs while Velarde weighed in at 108 lbs.

Nietes' conditioning coach Nick Curson said during yesterday's press conference that he has worked on ?rehabilitating weaknesses and problems and increasing the power? of the ALA fighters.
