LAS VEGAS -- With five players scoring in double figures, the Denver Nuggets beat the Los Angeles Clippers, 104-93, Saturday night at the MGM Grand arena here in Las Vegas.
Power forward Kenneth Faried led the Nuggets with 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists while Arron Afflalo added 16. Randy Foye tallied 14, Danilo Gallinari got 12 and J. J. Hickson finished with 10.
Denver fared well from the field, making 38 of 73 field goals and 5 of 18 three-point shots. The Nuggets also out-rebounded Los Angeles, 45-41, and produced one assist more with 19.
Despite being hindered by foul trouble, Blake Griffin managed 27 points and five rebounds to top the Clippers. Jamal Crawford contributed 23 while point guard Chris Paul accounted for 13 and 9 assists.
Unlike the Nuggets, the Clips struggled with their shot --- 27 of 73 from the field and 6 of 25 from 3-point range. The Clips also missed 12 of their 45 free throws and made a game-high 19 turnovers.
