NBA Playoffs- Wizards steal Game 1 in Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Washington Wizards went 10-for-16 beyond the 3-point arc Monday night to beat the Indiana Pacers, 102-96, in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinals at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 25 while Trevor Ariza added 22, including a 6-for-6 clip from long distance. Nene chipped in 15 and six boards while Marcin Gortat had 12 and 15 rebounds. John Wall settled with 13 and nine dimes.

Veteran Drew Gooden had a stellar stint off the bench with 12 points and 13 rebounds. His effort helped Washington hammer Indiana off the boards, 53-36. The Wizards now lead this best-of-7 series 1-0. Game 2 is Wednesday night (Thursday AM in Manila).

Paul George and George Hill finished with 18 apiece for Indy, David West added 15, but 7-foot-2 center Roy Hibbert was had zero points and zero rebounds in 17 minutes of play.

The Pacers trailed by as many as 16 points and were held to just 33 of 81 from the field (40.7 percent).
